Local opportunities For Artists

Comic Art Needed

Spokane Sequential is a free comics magazine based in Spokane, Washington, powered by generous community support, volunteer staff, and contributions from creators in Spokane and the surrounding Inland Northwest.

Always on the first Friday in October, Terrain is an annual, one-night-only, juried multimedia art and music event celebrating artists in the Spokane area.

Featuring new works by hundreds of artists, and attracting thousands of attendees, it is a celebration of new energy and fresh ideas from all over the artistic spectrum. From painting to poetry to interactive art and film, we try to showcase a little of everything that’s happening to make the Inland Empire a more vibrant, cultural and beautiful place to live.

Trails End Gallery will be hosting our first plein air (outdoor painting ) event the weekend of May 25 & 26 2024. The work produced will be shown for the month of June beginning with the First Thursday, June 6th. We have 15 artists committed to the event so far and expect more. The entrance fee will be $10, and this is a nonjuried event. Depending on the number of entries, the artists will be able to submit 4 or 5 finished pieces for the show and work will be displayed at Trails End Gallery and possibly other locations if needed. This show is open to artists 18 years and older. Artists can work in a variety of mediums, and the emphasis is on producing the work that weekend in 1 or 2 days as needed. Plein air artists generally work from nature but also cityscapes, people etc. and the work is produced on location from the subject matter chosen. While this is our first attempt at a plein air event, we hope it could grow to be an annual event. In the coming weeks I will produce a registration form with more details and updates for the event. In the meantime, feel free to contact me for more information about the event or even suggestions at trailsendgallery@yahoo.com. Thanks for supporting art in Chewelah, WA.
